Developed and delivered plans for the revitalization of a core filtration brand for a Fortune 500 company in the biomanufacturing market, resulting in above budget growth through a combination of effective strategy execution, stakeholder engagement and alignment, product manager mentorship, and maintenance of product supply chain integrity.


Business Development

Developed an inorganic growth plan for a mid-sized life science tools company, with a focus on building capabilities through partnerships and acquisitions. Project involved creating a business development strategy, building a pipeline of opportunities, creating radar screens of potential targets, scenario planning and engagement with buy-side and sell-side financial advisors.


Regulatory support

Engagement with a European IVF/ART supplier to support regulatory compliance for the submission and approval of US FDA 510(k) Premarket Notification for Class II Medical Devices. Performed competitive benchmarking with potential predicate Class II Devices including a deep dive assessment on each product category to elaborate on technical features, benefits and relevant clinical application data from US IVF clinics


Biopharma collaborations

Worked with a mid-sized life science tools company to lead customer collaborations with major biopharmaceutical manufacturers including Genentech and Amgen.  Developed objectives and milestones for customer collaborations, attended steering committee meetings, and negotiated collaboration agreements (including management of jointly developed IP).

 

Change management


Performed an organizational assessment and subsequently developed an implementation plan to redefine the role of product management (from start to finish) at a Fortune 500 life sciences company. The project became a benchmark for organizational design work in other parts of the business.  Key success factors included strong stakeholder engagement and commitment, consensus building and strong support from HR business partners.

Strategic Planning

Direct involvement as an author and project leader in the annual strategic planning process at three public companies (Amersham plc, General Electric Company and Millipore Corp.), including management of the strategic planning process from start to finish, strategy development, communication cascades, BOD presentations and subsequent execution of BOD endorsed plans.
